“You have to take care of yourself.”
 But between work, family, appointments, and trying to keep up with laundry (and your sanity), self-care can start to feel like just another thing on your to-do list.

So what is self-care, really? And how do you actually make it part of your life—without feeling guilty, overwhelmed, or like you need a spa day budget?

While face masks and cozy nights in definitely count, self-care goes deeper than that. It’s about intentionally taking care of your physical, emotional, mental, and even spiritual needsso you can show up for your life feeling grounded, connected, and well.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

✍️ Emotional Self-Care

  • Journal how you’re feeling each morning or night. This will help sharpen your awareness about what your needs are, and will also help you develop plans for taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally.
  • Set boundaries (and stick to them). It’s important to have cut off times for work-related tasks, and to carve out time for you, and for people and activities that lift you up!
  • Say “no” without apologizing. It’s important to identify your boundaries, and saying “no” to things that extend you beyond your capacities is an essential part of taking care of yourself.

🧠 Mental Self-Care

  • Take breaks from screens and social media
  • Practice mindfulness or deep breathing
  • Talk to a therapist (👋 we’ve got some great ones!)

🏃 Physical Self-Care

  • Move your body in a way that feels good—walk, stretch, dance, nap
  • Stay hydrated and nourish yourself (no guilt)
  • Get some sleep (seriously, rest is productive)

💬 Social Self-Care

  • Connect with someone you trust
  • Ask for help when you need it
  • Spend time with people who fill your cup, not drain it
